We are seeking motivated applicants for an NIH-funded position with experience in cellular immunology and expertise in multi-parameter flow cytometry to join our research team investigating novel influenza and HIV DNA-based vaccines in nonhuman primates with a key role in defining mucosal and systemic cell-mediated immune mechanisms of viral control. The successful candidate will also support external collaborations in HIV vaccine development by evaluating cell mediated immune responses induced by promising SIV and HIV vaccines in nonhuman primates as part of the Washington National Primate Research Center’s Simian Vaccine Evaluation Unit activities. The candidate must have experience in multi-parameter flow cytometry (8 color+) including protocol development, experience in analysis of flow data using FACSDiva software or similar and must be willing to work with NIH Risk Groups 2 & 3 infectious agents. Experience in cell sorting, ELISPOT, and ELISA, techniques is also highly desired. Experience in mucosal immunology and analysis of immune responses in humans and/or nonhuman primates is a plus. Candidates must have a track record of productivity with a strong interest in HIV immunology and vaccine research.
